Video editing requires loads of memory! And that is all it really does need. The more memory the smother playback of videos will be, how smooth you need it, really depends on the type of film you are editing. For example if you are using a common digital camera, I suggest at least 2 GB of RAM (memory/random access memory), for high definition at least 4 GB. This ensures smooth playback of videos while editing. To install RAM simply visit your local computer techies and they would be happy to install more memory for a fee starting at $50.00 depending on the amount you want.

Generally all computers dont have the specified amount of Ram this is due to your OS taking up a lot of it. Good luck, maybe reset your computer if possible.

Perhaps you should go somewhere and take your camera in with some footage and see if it makes a difference, you dont want to go and buy something that isn't going to change anything..
